Ital
Structures has operated in the field of scientific
instruments since 1966. During its first years this
small factory, located in Riva del Garda (Italy),
supplied mainly technical assistance to research
laboratories. Over time, however, thanks to investments
in its human resources, Ital Structures has been able to
present itself as an alternative for X-Ray diffraction
instruments (see APD 2000,
for example) to already famous foreign firms.
Technological
challenges, posed by the introduction of microprocessors
in electronics, in the Seventies, and the spread of the
Personal Computer, in the Eighties, were accepted and
overcome. Today they are part of our knowledge,
expertise and experience.
Ital
Structures developed and produces a high-frequency X-ray
generator, Compact 3K5,
using new materials such as power ferrites and switching
technology: as a result, it had an instrument smaller
and lighter than many others: no more than forty-five
kilograms.
In
addition, Ital Structures has instituted a research and
development section which, during the period from '92 to
'94, thanks partly to help from the Autonomous Province
of Trento, was able to develop a new fluorescent
analytical system, TX 2000
based on the geometry of totally reflected X-Rays (txrf). This
completely automated spectrometer is one of its most
interesting products: thanks to its very low detection
limits, in the order of p.p.b., and the absence of any
matrix effects, it is very useful for elements analysis
of environmental,
biological and new material samples.
Currently,
Ital Structures is concerned with the production of a
new energy dispersive spectrometer, Gold-X,
dedicated to the assaying of gold and other precious
elements: the degree of accuracy in the assaying of gold
is the same (or better...) as the unique - but
destructive! - chemical method known, cuppellation.
The
last equipment developed by Ital Structures thanks to
the ESQUI European Project is the HRD
3000 High
Resolution Diffractometer. It allow to cover all
the requirements in the new materials research. A
